The petrographic facies of « Sommet de Finiels »: results of glacial dynamics on the granitic Mont Lozère batholith (Cévennes, Southern France)

Une étude interdisciplinaire conduite sur le Mont Lozère (Département de la Lozère, France), montre que la distribution du faciès granitique du « Sommet de Finiels » correspond à la portion sommitale du batholite soumise au maximum d’extension des phénomènes glaciaires cénozoïques.

In the Mont Lozère (Dept. of Lozère, France), an interdisciplinarity approach, including geomorphological, botanical and geological studies, based on field data, shows that the distribution of the “Sommet de Finiels” granite facies precisely corresponds to the uppermost part of the batholith that was submitted to the strongest Cenozoic glaciogenic events.
